Magnolia Cemetery

We visited Magnolia Cemetery again this week.  Is it weird that I love this place so much?  There is just so much beauty and so many stories.  A lot of work went into this ironwork.

Hobcaw Creek

We made our first trip to Hobcow in Mount Pleasant and were "Pleasantly" surprised by the wonderful feel of the marina and the area.  It was full of natural beauty and also steeped in history.
“Throughout the colonial period in South Carolina, shipbuilding was centered around the three trade centers: Charleston, Georgetown and Beaufort. Charleston, alone, supported some 14 shipyards during the period from the beginning of the 18th century up until 1865.  Probably the largest shipyard in all of colonial South Carolina was the one started on the south side of Hobcaw Creek in 1753 by two Scottish shipwrights, John Rose and James Stewart.”  Click here to go to the website.

Memorial Waterfront Park - Mount Pleasant

We toured Mount Pleasant yesterday with friends from out of state and enjoyed our city fresh from their eyes.  We even found some new to us treasures.  Waterfront Park is Mount Pleasant's newest park and is located under the Arthur Ravenel Bridge that goes over the Cooper River to Charleston.

Colorful Charleston

We took a carriage ride through the city today.  This was one of my favorite pictures because of the colorful shutters.  And I found that it is very hard to get good pictures riding backwards in a carriage!

Night Lights

We were downtown recently and these lights really caught my attention.  I had only taken my little camera - but at least I had that!
